Chartering a RIB with Thames Tigers
Tiger One & Two
Tiger One and Tiger Two are our primary vessels for high speed trips. Originally built with 'puncture-proof' tubes for offshore commercial use; they are built to take rougher weather than the Thames is ever likely to experience. The largest Rigid Inflatable Boats operating on the River Thames. Refitted by Thames Tigers in 2017, which included the fitting of Ullman suspension seats. The seats greatly reduce the risk of shock and vibration injuries; a common problem with high speed operations on water. Thames Tigers are the only RIB charter operation in London to have made the significant investment in the comfort and protection that suspension seats offer.
Powered by twin Yamaha 275HP Turbo Diesel engines, Tiger One and Two are capable of speeds in excess of 40knots (46mph). The Port of London Authority impose a 12knot speed limit but allow certain vessels, that have been strictly inspected and certified, to exceed this limit and travel at up to 30knots (35mph). 35mph on a road is fairly sedate but on water it's a different matter! With a great crew and some loud music to the mix and you have the recipe for a trip to remember!

Where do you want to start and finish?
Blackfriars Pier is an ideal starting point; it has plenty of space to meet and there's not the pressure of crowds of tourists fighting for passenger vessels seen at Tower or Waterloo Piers. It has great public transport links and a choice of places to eat.

The high-speed zones are down river from near Tower Bridge and up river from Lambeth Bridge. We can help you plan just the right mix of sightseeing and full on speed in the time available.

Tiger Two has a great sound system that can set the mood with your choice of music or ours. Just bring a selection on a USB stick and turn the volume up!
